Alternative Vision caught up with Slaves To Gravity back stage at Islington Academy, London to talk about touring with Aiden and why vocalist Tommy Gleeson got searched at a train station..

Thank's for taking time out to do this interview.
First of all can you describe your band in three words?
The obvious one would be rock and roll I suppose. Can anyone top rock and roll? We're a good band. We'll stick with Rock AND Roll.

You're only a couple of days into the Aiden tour, but how's it going so far? How's the crowd treating you etc?
Yeah, really good man really possitive. We've played Manchester, Sheffield and Liverpool so far. It's really different, like a slightly younger audience from what we've played to before. The last tour we did was with Goo Goo Dolls which was middle age like 30+ crowd, it's weird like jumping from one to the other but we're still getting a really good response from them.

Do you have any pre-show or post-show rituals that you partake in?
Drinking. Beer ! Pretty much, like we'll have quite abit of Jagermeister, lot's of beer. We'll kind of warm up and stretch, have a couple of cigarettes. That's about it really !

If you could play with any band past or present, who would it be and why?
Alice In Chains ! because they're fucking bad ass.
I'd say original line up of Guns 'n' Roses.

Which particular gig that you've played sticks in your mind as being truly amazing or unforgettable?
It's hard to remember pacifically because you go into your own world on stage. Last nights show because I fell on my ass ! that was quite memorable. You always remember bad shows more than the good ones. When you have good shows you get so fucked up afterwards you forget about it anyways.
What could you not live without on tour?
Weed. The internet. Ok, i'm going to say vocal sounds. I'm kind of addicted to them now !

What do you guys have planned for the rest of the year?
We've got some stuff in the pipe line but I don't want to say because I don't wanna jynx it.

If you could give a big "fuck you" to anyone, who would it be?
I dunno man. Kids ! We're not really that sort of band, we don't really use the middle finger that much. We don't really like to bad mouth. George Bush? Gordan Brown i guess. The police officers that randomly searched me.

May i ask why they randomly searched you?
Not for the fact i have long hair and earings. I dunno some kind of random search under the terrorism act of the train station, but you know I look like i'm gonna blow the joint up ! Yeah.. Fuck the police.
