Marc
managed to dive into the tour bus for a quick
interview with Eddy Thrower and Dec Hart. from
Lower Than Atlantis before tonight's gig.
You
just realised your new album Changing Tune two
days ago, how's it been going down with fans?
Dec: Yeah it's good. Last night was the first
night they properly knew the song, I mean there
was a couple of song that were out but they properly
knew the songs. So yeah very good.
So
Southampton was the better night of the tour for
you?
Dec: It's only the second day, but it was a bigger
room than the night before and me and Eddy are
from Southampton so it was pretty cool.
Eddy : Kind of like a home town show for us. A
few of my mates where there so that was pretty
cool.
What
song off the new album do you think goes down
best?
Both Love someone else.
Dec: Because we open with that. But then I think
P.M.A is going to be the new one.
Eddy: Yeah P.M.A's a good live song.
Is
that your favourite off the album?
Dec: Yeah that's one of my favourites.
Was
that true when you recorded it around the time
of Slam Dunk festival?
Dec: Yeah it was a little bit before then but
yeah.
Any
songs grown on you from the album?
Dec: I duno I think as we start playing them live
I'll start to like them more or less depending
on how it goes.
Eddy : Haha yeah I thought you were going to say
that
What's
been your highlight of the year so far?
Dec: Probably signing to Island Records and selling
out or first headline tour. And now we're doing
this headline tour and its pretty much all sold
out already and we've only done two shows.
So
it's going down pretty well. Who are you most
excited about playing with on this tour?
Dec: Gnarwolves man. There so sick.
Eddy : Yeah their fucking sick. They just don't
give a shit. It's like
Dec: Go on man.
Eddy : Nah. There just so funny man. They just
don't care. They just enjoy music.
Dec: It kinda reminds me of how we were in the
like fuck you days.
Eddy : Yeah.
Dec: We just didn't give a fuck, like turn up
like don't have any strings man.
Eddy : Hahaha
Dec: There just funny. I was like "do you
have any t-shirts, can I buy one" and they
were like "nah man, but we've got some skate
wax" hahaha.
Eddy : Haha
Are
you looking forward to any dates in particular?
Dec: London, because that's our biggest ever
headline show.
And
the last one, a good way to finish off.
Dec :Yeah.
Eddy: Yeah.
Dec: Then We're going to Ireland.
Eddy: WOOOO
Dec: The shows not as big because there's not
was many people in Ireland but yeah.
What
was your favourite festival that you've done this
year?
Eddy : Reading. I've never been to Reading or
Leeds before, so I didn't really know what to
expect but it was just so good.
It
was packed in there.
Dec: Were you there?
Yeah
it was rammed out the back and I could barely
get in.
Eddy : Yeah it was amazing. It was probably my
favourite show of the year.
Dec: It was a landmark in our career. Whatever
that means.
that
tent was as busy for you as it was for The Subways
headlineing the night before.
Eddy : Really?
Eddy : That's ridiculous.
What
was it like filming your two new video's compared
to the older Deadliest Catch which you did in
one of your own houses I'm guessing?
Dec: Yeah and fans sent stuff in. Yeah it was
cool.
Eddy : Yeah, it's like the next step up. We've
not really experienced it before but it was good.
It was pretty fun actually, because we weren't
playing. When you play in a video it's kinda tedious
because your there all day playing the same fucking
song.
Dec: You hate that fucking song. I remember the
Beech Like The Tree Video we must have gone though
the song in excess of three hundred times, something
mental. I was just like "I don't ever want
to listen to this fucking song again" haha.
Eddy : Hana
Here
at alternative vision we ask everyone this. Would
you rather be a Giraffe or a Zebra and why?
Dec: Eddys drum tech actually is a Giraffe haha.
So I don't want to be a Giraffe, so I'll say Zebra.
Eddy : Umm
Dec: If you can't think of one agree with me man.
Eddy : Yeah I'll say Zebra.
Have
you got a message for your fans?
Dec: Thank you for liking our band, and giving
a fuck about us, and buying the stuff that we
sell.
Eddy : Thank you for buying our new album, and
for those who haven't please do.
