Before
the third night of We Are The In Crowd's headline
tour in Cardiff, Marc and Neil got to grab Taylor
Jardine for a quick chat.
You
guys have played two date's so far how are you
finding the reception?
It's been incredible. So many people turned
up, I don't know how. It's crazy. But my in
ear monitor's weren't working last night so
I ruined my voice on the first night singing
too loud .
When
you're not on stage how do you spend your down
time?
I've just started watching Breaking Bad, it's
very interesting, it's kinda scary, well it's
not scary but I just never want to be in that
situation. It's definitely very intense but
I love it. I've only got though the first season,
but the rest of the band have finished so I
have to catch up. I've been doing that and reading
Chaos Walking Trilogy.
So
do you get out about much around the cities you
go to?
It's harder on a van tour because you wake
up really early, drive all day and finally get
there and you're at work, so not much on this
tour. Last time we were here we go out a bit,
our sound guy was from here so he kinda took
us around showed us some cool places.
You
guys are playing all of the warped tour, any hints
that you guys are playing the UK one off date?
We're trying, we were just talking to our agent
about all that. If we're free we'll be there,
but were not sure what our schedules like, but
if were free we'll be there.
You've
been touring a lot over the last year does it
get tiring, do you miss being home?
I never really miss being home to much because
I end up seeing my family a lot on tour, they
come to a lot of shows, but we do get tired
. I think I've been home for about 12 hours
this year so far. It's kinda weird but it's
good, I'd rather be busy than bored you know?
Nicee...
*guy walks past in a towel*
I caught
you in an interview saying English food was bland...
You know what's weird I was actually thinking
about that today, and I think the first time
I was here I just had a bad experience, I honestly
think that, because last time we were here with
All Time Low the food we had was amazing and
this time I haven't had one bad meal so I'm
like what is going on? However a lot of other
people say that and I think the difference is
that in the US there's so many condiment options
and we're all like these like sauce connoisseurs,
like we can put anything on and we love hot
sauce so maybe that's what the difference was.
So
If the US win with the food battle, where's the
best place for you to play?
Oh god, I don't know. We really really love
the UK because its just been awesome.
I mean, I hate the weather I absolutely hate
it, but the response since day one has really
welcoming and it hasn't changed and the fact
that I can say that for now what's been a year
of us touring is pretty crazy. That's really
cool. Then there's certain markets in the States
that will forever be our favorite markets but
I dunno. I'm not just saying that because you
guys are here but we love it here. We joke about
it every time were here like were guna move
here.
Well
you know Mark Hoppus moved over...
He did yea, I think he's actually moving back.
I
keep seeing you
saying thank you for gifts, what's the strangest
gift you've got?
One time I got this wooden block in the shape
of a heart, and I was like ok I don't even know
how I'm going to get this back in my suitcase.
I'm going though this bag of stuff this girl
given me and there was like my initial. it doesn't
seem that weird but like when you're going through
things like here's a bracelet some food some
candy and all of a sudden there's these wooden
blocks and they were really heavy and I'm like
what am I going to do with it. Because they
were really heavy like it had some substance
to it I felt really bad about just leaving it
behind but i just don't really know what to
do with it. I just left them in the hotel because
I just couldn't fit them anywhere, so I'm sorry
if you're seeing this, I appreciated them but
I just had no idea what to do with them.
What's
the best gift?
I don't know, I really like letters and stuff
like that. I'm a big fan of when people make
things, I'm like a mum I guess. My mum always
says that, you don't have to buy me anything
just make me something.
You
seem to have a lot of fun doing video's and your
artwork. What's your favorite thing you've done?
The Kiss Me again video was really fun, we
had all of our friends and family there. It
was like 11 in the morning and were doing the
live shots in Mikes basement, it's the first
time we've done anything at home so it was cool
to have everybody there and I see my sister
and she's in the corner wasted at like 11 in
the morning and she's pretending to know our
songs and she's like looking at me I'm like
please don't look like an idiot on camera. It
was so much fun, I had bronchitis though which
kinda sucked but I liked the fact we had all
our friends and family there, people were like
driving up from the city. It was cool. Also
we did a promo shot and we had to stand on the
edge of the building and Jordan's so tall that
he's scared of heights, everything's that much
taller for him and he's holding on to the camera
and were all just dyeing laughing because he's
literally in tears because he's so scared. That
was fun.
Ok,
final question and one that we at Alternative
Vision ask everyone, it's all about the justification.
If you could be a Zebra or a Giraffe which would
you be and why?
I would be a Zeeeeebra I say Zeebra you guys
say Zebra it's kinda weird. I think I have to
say that because my sisters favorite animal
is a Giraffe, so I think she'd probably be mad
at me If I picked it.
Or
you'd be closer and she'd love you even more?
We're already twins, or triplets. I would separate
myself that way, nah I'm a really big fan of
horses I've had two of them in my life so would
be awesome.
Anything
else you want to add?
We will be back this fall, I can't tell you
what we're doing but we will be back and it's
gunna be awesome and my voice will be a lot
better so I apologise today I really do.
Just
make sure your in ears are working and you'll
catch me in the photo pit trying to snap some
photo's of you...
Sweet, kick you in the head.
Cheers!
Oh, what was it like recoding on Yellowcard's
album?
Did that come out? I mean was that announced already?
I didn't even know that was announced, if it was
then it was awesome. It was a last minute thing.
He just randomly asked me hey do you want to do
the harmony in the bridge of this song and he
just sent it over and I did it at home so I didn't
actually record it with them.
Thanks
again and good luck for tonight.
