First
and main support tonight is from Ginger Wildheart,
(The Wildhearts front man), and what a way to
start off!
The energy in the room is already super charged
as Ginger and Co take to the stage, and I can
only describe the bands performance as outstanding
as the set progresses, I have no words, they are
just THAT good.
Speeding through a gleaming set, with the likes
of the fantastically odd paced, 'Taste Aversion',
'Over Easy' and finishing up brilliantly with
Wildhearts track 'Do The Channel Bop' which the
crowd lap up, bounce and sing along to. All in
all a stupendously great support to open with.
As we are plunged into darkness, (of course!)
at around 9pm, the energy has not subsided any.
Justin is the first to enter the stage, with just
a single spotlight illuminating the cat suited
figure and after a couple of minutes, the rest
of the band join him.
Kicking
of the set this evening with 'Every Inch Of You',
'Black Shuck' and everyone's favourite, 'Growing
On Me', The Darkness have the audience whipped
up into a frenzy, there are giant inflatable penis'
flying everywhere you look from the crowd, with
various messages and song titles written on them!
It's just one big party tonight, the atmosphere
is very light and lively as we are entertained
every inch of the way by front man Justin, with
his ever so slightly Russell Brand esque campness,
you can't help but be transfixed with him. The
great tracks just keep on coming in the form of
'One Way Ticket', 'Get Your Hands Off My Woman',
where we see Justin do an impressive head stand
infront of the drums while Dan power slides past!,
the beautiful 'Love Is Only A Feeling' and the
lively 'Friday Night'.
The band take the time to chat to their loyal
fans in between tracks and round the night off
perfectly with 'The Best Of Me', and 'Love On
The Rocks With No Ice'.
B A really enjoyable evening from start to
finish, that leaves you wanting more!
