I
arrive shortly after 7pm this evening, The Slade
Rooms are packed and raring to go not unusual
considering that it's Terrorvision that are the
headliners tonight, these lads still continue
to have a strong following.
Main and only support comes in the form of four
piece Irish classic hard rock band, 'Trucker Diablo'.
The guys formed in 2008 after having enjoyed success
in previous bands, 'Joyrider' and 'TILTED' through
the 90's.
The sound currently being belted from the stage
is crystal clear, high ball energetic brilliance.
Hard riffs, strong vocals, and easy to get to
grips with lyrics, the crowd take this in and
duly give Trucker Diablo the applause they deserve
after each track. It's been a while since I have
witnessed a band as tight as this. Stage presence
and crowd interaction is awesome with plenty of
banter from front man Tom Harte.
'Voodoo' is a great track for rocking out to,
as are most, if not all of the tracks performed
tonight including 'Drive' 'Drink Beer, and Destroy
', the latter being a track that would remind
most of us of our later teenage years, at rock
clubs, house parties, ah good times!
Terrorvision
bounce onto the stage with 'Discotheque Wreck',
and the crowd go insane! The guys are so full
of energy, it's hard to get an in focus photograph
of front man Tony as he leaps and bounds all over
the stage. Next track offered up tonight is 'All
the Girls Want to Dance', neatly followed by 'My
House'.
By this point The Slade Rooms has turned into
a sauna and the atmosphere is one of sheer enjoyment
from both the excitable crowd, and band alike,
not a smile-less face or rigid stance to be seen
anywhere! But, that’s Terrorvision for you
they never fail to lift your mood.
The fun, feel good vibes just keep coming tonight
in the form of 'Alice, What’s The Matter?'
and 'Tequila' then taking it down a notch for
'Some People Say’, every word to every track
is sang back from the crowd.
It's not too long before crowd pleaser 'Oblivion'
is performed by a still full of energy Terrorvision,
it's hard to believe the band are celebrating
20 years with this tour. I first saw Terrorvision
at the Civic Hall in 1994, and the gig this evening,
albeit a much smaller stage and venue is just
as impressive and just as much fun.
Terrorvision close the evening with 'Celebrity
Hit list' followed by 'Perseverance', the set
has been top notch from beginning to end and they
leave us in desperate need of a cold drink and
shower once again, phew!
Trucker Diablo 4.5/5
