Enter Shikari are currently out on tour tearing
up the Academy sized venues across the country and
to coincide with the tour they are releasing their
new single ‘Wall’.
‘Wall’ is a bit of a departure from
the sound that we are usually used to from Enter
Shikari, it’s a lot more toned down with
minimum soundscapes and synths and features near
spoken word vocals for at least the first minute
or so of the song. The opening lyrics of the song
are very random with Rou Reynolds singing “I'm
gonna paste you up cover you in wallpaper, screw
shelves into you and call you a wall. That's all
you are to me trying to keep people inside, inside
your sordid little house. This is no right abode;
you can have skirting board shoes and plug sockets
on your knees”, the song may be very different
from all previous Enter Shikari material but it
still has the same listenable appeal to it.
As mentioned above, ‘Wall’ shows
a totally different side to Enter Shikari, a side
that I would like to hear more of in the future.
4/5
