The Chemists have been releasing a new single every
three months for the last year now and in theory
‘Milk And Honey’ will be the bands last
single release for a little while as a week after
the single is released the band’s debut album
is finally released and features all the singles
that the band have released in the past which means
there aren’t many more song’s on the
album that could possibly be released.
‘Milk And Honey’ is a song about
a deluded man whose girlfriend left him and he
can’t understand why, as he believes that
he is amazing, the song is driven by an real bouncy
and catchy super charged guitar hook, whilst front
man Johnny Benn’s vocals come across in
an upbeat way.
The B-side ‘Close Your Eyes’ starts
off with constant drum beats from drummer Matt
Albon, Johnny Benn’s vocals come in shortly
after sounding very chilled until they become
slightly upbeat and catchy during the chorus.
The other two songs featured on the single are
remix songs, the first one is a remix of one of
their previous singles called ‘Hear Our
Song’, whilst the second is a remix of ‘Hot
In That’, now if you like your indie songs
turned into near dance floor anthems then you
will like these remixes, if not it is best waiting
until the album is released and listen to the
original versions.
‘Milk And Honey’ may not be the best
single release from The Chemists but it is still
a good release, however I do wonder how well the
bands album will do once it is released mainly
due to the fact that the album has been a long
time coming and pretty much every track on the
album has been released in some shape or form.
