I really loved the debut self-titled EP from The
Humour, it featured three tracks and each track
was good in its own way as each track was different
from each other but all packed an equally big punch,
I have since received the bands brand new single
‘One More Drink’ and I have to say that
I was very excited to put the single on and give
it a listen, but sadly the excitement was over pretty
quickly and not because the song was rubbish or
anything but because it is basically a re-working
of their song called ‘Your Robot Dance Is
In Time’.
‘One More Drink’ is a real fast upbeat
track that will have you singing and dancing along
with the energetic ways of the band, if you haven’t
heard any of the bands previous material then
you are going to love everything about the song
as it is such an happy listenable song, but if
like me you have heard the band’s debut
EP then you will be slightly disappointed as the
song is a re-working of one of their old songs
with slightly different lyrics but the same instrumental
arrangements.
The b-side ‘Stronger Without You' is a bit
of a chill out song with a slight melodic chorus
with loads of “woaahhs” coming and going
throughout, it’s nothing amazing but its listenable
and quite pleasant on the ears.
It has been a year since The Humour released
their self-titled debut EP and I have to say that
I am slightly disappointed with their lack of
movement within that time scale, and I really
hope that they get back on track with their next
release.
3/5
