Bad Lieutenant are a band made up of New Order’s
Bernard Sumner on guitar and vocals, Phil Cunningham
on guitar and Jake Evans on guitar and vocals, now
the band formed in 2007 and to be honest it seems
like they haven’t done anything since then
but that is because they have been busy writing
and recording for their debut album ‘Never
Cry Another Tear’ which is actually complete
now and ready to be released on the 5th October
and I am sure when it is released their will be
no hiding from these guys.
The band’s debut single ‘Sink Or
Swim’ is due for release on the 28th September
and will also feature on their debut album which
is available to buy a week later. ‘Sink
Or Swim’ is a really catchy song, it does
sound quite like New Order but then it would as
Bernard Sumner is one of the guitarists and singers
but at the same time the addition of Jake Evans
into the band help Bad Lieutenant also sound slightly
different, the single ‘Sink Or Swim’
features a cracking bit of guitar work running
throughout the whole song and the vocals from
Sumner are just the same as they were in his New
Order days, the song is very acoustic and catchy
sounding.
‘Sink Or Swim’ is a good start for
Bad Lieutenant, but it will take until the guys
release their debut album on the 5th October for
me to get a real feel of what Bad Lieutenant are
all about, but so far everything seems to be alright.
3/5
