I actually loved the last Flood Of Red song ‘A
Place Before The End’ so when I get sent their
latest single ‘Home Run’ which is due
out on the 5th October I was instantly excited and
I have to say that now I have heard the song I am
even more excited about the band’s new album
‘Leaving Everything Behind’ which is
due to be released on the 19th October.
During ‘Home Run’, once again front
man Jordan Spiers shines with his Anthony Green
style dreamy vocals and instrumentally everything
is strong from proper kicking guitar riffs to
constant toned down drumming to dreamy bass lines,
and just as you think the song can’t get
anymore toned down, at the 3minute mark of the
song instrumentally everything goes near silence
whilst Jordan Spiers softly sings along and then
a minute later everything builds up with drummer
Graham Griffith kicking things off with some hard
hitting drumming.
Flood Of Red are a really talented band and they
seem to create songs that take you on such a thrilling
journey with the way they start off so soft and
easy listening whilst then taking you on a journey
full of twists and turns throughout the various
different changes within their songs and that
is exactly what happens during ‘Home Run’.
4/5
