Bigelf are a circus influenced metal band.
The album opener, Gravest show on earth, reminds
me of a metal esque inspired version of the Beatles
song Sergent peppers lonely hearts club band off
the album of the same name, its a bit overblown
but its a really good track. The album remind
me again of the Beatles in there later stage of
there career if the continued into the seventies,
with some Pink Floyd and Trex thrown in there
for good measure, its all a very excessive throwback
to the 70s, im a fan to say the least, i think
a vinyl version would slot well into my record
collection. This album seems to have been constructed
from the best bits of the 70s, some great classic
rock guitar playing, with some keyboards in there,
great drumming, its all very big, it even has
the right sound to it, it really could have come
straight out of the 70s. Stand out tracks include
the opener,Gravest show on earth, Blackball, both
are lengthy tracks, but you don't tire of them.
In opinion there isnt a bad track on the album,
it just oozes awesomeness, Money is pure evil,
could have been released by black sabbath, you
can pick any track and probably pick out the band
that has influenced it.
Cheat The Gallows is out on the 7th of September.
5/5
