Belladonna is an Italian band that formed in 2005
in Rome. The Noir Album is there second release,
and is released via Belladonna records.
The albums opens with an ok-ish track called
Alchemical Romance, its a tad catchy, but the
songs that follow the opener are much much better,Phoenix
Rising, gallops along steadily, with a decent
chorus, till death do us part is abit of a headbanger,
but needs to be way heavier to reall get that
head rocking, the main riff an drums work well
together, and the vocals are pretty decent, not
sure why this is classed as rock noir, just rock
would have done. Im not sure if im a fan of the
lyrics there a bit melodramatic, but i guess there
supposed to be, the vocalist Lunan is very good
though, the guitar work on the album is good,
if slightly understated, leaving room for the
vocals to really come through, the drumming is
solid if a tad standard, and the bass is in there
somewhere i think. The Album Closes with Pure
Belladonna, a fairly ok track, it seems the album
starts as it finishes, with ok-ish tracks, luckily
the songs in between are much better.
The Noir Album is out now to purchase.
4/5
