Funeral For A Friend have been doing things their
own way for some time now, their last album ‘Memory
And Humanity’ was released on their own record
label and they are now back to show the music industry
how they have progressed throughout their career
with the release of their new compilation album
‘Your History Is Mine: 2002 – 2009’,
the compilation features 16 tracks, 12 which are
classic songs that they have released throughout
the years and 4 are brand new songs to show everyone
which direction they are going to take next.
Out of the 4 news songs Funeral For A Friend
have decided to release ‘Wrench’ as
their new single on the 14th September, a good
couple of weeks before the retrospective album
is released. ‘Wrench’ starts off as
a hard hitting song that is full of power and
anger and then suddenly as the song gets going
it morphs into a big happy melodic ride which
finishes right in the middle of happy and angry
with group chant-a-long vocals of “We Carry
On, We Carry On”.
‘Wrench’ is a big mix of a song;
it has a perfect balance which reflects on the
heavy side of Funeral For A Friends earlier days
to the more melodic side of their later days and
it sure does take you on an anthemic journey.
5/5
