Anyone remember The Stupids? Well if you don’t
the band were originally around in the late 80’s
and they hail from Ipswich and broke up in 1989
which shows that the band weren’t together
for too long and if you are younger than 30 then
you are forgiven for not hearing of The Stupids
before.
The new album by The Stupids is called ‘The
Kids Don’t Like It’ and it is a proper
punk record in length with most songs running
just over the minute mark, the album features
16 tracks but is over before you know it due to
the short length of each and every track. The
majority of the songs on the album are fast and
furious just like punk rock should be, but nothing
about the music that The Stupids produce stands
out,
If you are a real old skool punk with your massive
Mohawk, studded jacket full of patches and love
punk music from the days of The Sex Pistols, The
Damned, Sham 69 and go to Rebellion Festival each
and every year then you are going to love the
new album by The Stupids, but if you are in your
early teens and have just come across The Stupids
you will probably be thinking what they fuck am
I listening to.
I am a big punk rock fan and was looking forward
to listening to the new album by The Stupids,
but to be honest I really can’t get on with
the album and I truly believe that the band should
of stopped when they actually called it a day
instead of coming back on the music scene 2 decades
later as things have changed their fans are older
and as the album title states the kids really
aren’t into this kind of music these days.
