Tiger Shadow are a 4 piece UK band that play a mix
of styles and influences to make something new and
distinctive.Influences such as Funk, Reggae, Trip
Hop, Indie and world music. The Rise of The Tiger
Shadow is there debut release.
The art work is pretty funky, i like the drawing
of the band. From the off, I cant say im a fan
of the vocalist however, its just not my particular
brand of vocalist, went off the rapping along
time ago,The music however is pretty easy going,
laid back, simple, nothing really complicated
about it, simple drums, strummed chords, with
hints of synth thrown in there. The track lengths
are short, which means if your not a fan of the
vocals, means your unlikely to get annoyed by
them. The guitar work is understated, and perhaps
should be higher in the mix. This is the future,
is something being banded around a lot these days
in lyrics, i have to say there not the future.
Plus repeating lyrics like 1, 2, 1, 2, is just
boring as hell and unimaginative and annoying
when its repeated over and over id rather here
a decent instrumental than shite lyrics, the guitar
work on Vernacular Spectacular, is fantastic,
shame the lyrics are pants( the above lyrics as
it happens) This album seems to fall into two
halves, the music and the vocals, the music is
pretty good being fantastic at times, for MC lovers
the vocals may be appreciated a bit more, but
for me it just ruins the rest of bands tunes.
Bit of a let down.
The Rise of The Tiger Shadow is out to buy now.
3/5
