Enter Shikari have had a fantastic journey since
they form as a band, and they now have two full
length studio albums under their belt with their
most recent album ‘Common Dreads’ being
released only a couple of weeks ago and hitting
up the charts quite high, the band have also just
been announced as being up for the best British
band and best live band at the 2009 Kerrang awards
which can’t be bad for one of the most hard
working bands England have seen for some time.
The new Enter Shikari single ‘No sleep
Tonight’ is due for release on the 17th
August 2009, the song stands out quite a lot on
the band’s new album and that is mainly
due to the fact that the song has the most commercial
radio friendly feel out of all the songs on the
album, the song is still packed full of the synths
and electronic beats that everyone has come to
expect from Enter Shikari but throughout this
single they are very toned down and kept to a
minimum, Rou’s vocals are really catchy
and a lot more mature sounding than they were
on their debut album, and overall the song has
an angry vibe but is performed in such an massive
radio friendly way.
‘No Sleep Tonight’ is no way near
the best single Enter Shikari have released and
is also not one of the strongest tracks from their
current album, but saying that the song is still
good, I can see why they have chose to release
‘No Sleep Tonight’ as a single as
it should help them pick up a slightly different
fan base which is a plus side for a band that
is always looking at new ways to get there music
out to different people.
4/5
