Another band of the indie revolution, The Voom Blooms are here with an eciting
2 track sampler.
Track one, “Anna,” starts of with a very Subways-esque feel,
and soon kicks into a very summery indie upbeat chord progression that
effortlessly wanders from verse to chorus and so forth. As with many indie
bands, the vocals aren't exactly impressively melodic, but so long as
you get the gist, that's all that matters. It's not appalling, but then
again, there's no voice of an angel on this track I'm afraid. Also, annoyingly,
the chorus is ridiculously catchy.
And secondly, “The Models of Soho,” a much slower track,
with a very funky feel to the verses, and really easy to listen to. The
only flaw with the song is there isn't a very defined chorus section;
it seems to all sound quite samey, and although it's a good sound, it's
not really very exciting to listen to the same thing over and over.
All in all, a good pair of tracks. And thankfully, they differ slightly
from other indie bands, with their funky summer-like music. A good listen
without a doubt.
