Seriously how good are Rise Against and how amazing
is their new single ‘Hero Of War’, over
the past few years Rise Against have been going
from strength to strength, they have now blasted
out of the underground and are well into the mainstream
now in fact they have got so big that they are now
headlining over bands that they used to support
on tour only a few years ago.
‘Hero Of War’ is the most powerful
song I have ever heard from Rise Against and the
funniest thing is that the song is not a full
out fast punk rock song, instead it is an chilled
out acoustic track but everything about the song
is so powerful from the acoustic guitar being
strummed to Tim McIlraths strong and serious sounding
vocals to the overall message the song delivers
within the lyrics which touch the topic of war
and why war is a bad idea.
I love the fact that ‘Hero Of War’
is so different from what we are used to from
Rise Against, it features the same political war
based topics that we have been hearing for years,
but musically it is delivered in such a different
way that comes over stronger than you would ever
expect from Rise Against and an acoustic track.
5/5
