If you have read my review for ‘Pyromania’
then you have already read my introduction to Def
Leppard therefore I don’t need to re-write
it here, but what I will say is that ‘Adrenalize’
is there fifth album release from Def Leppard it
was originally released back in 1992 and is now
being re-released in a deluxe double disc digipak
which features gatefold packaging which includes
various different exclusive photos and sleeve-notes
that were not available on the original version
of the album, the bonus disc this time around features
12 tracks, some which are live versions and others
that are B-sides from various different Def Leppard
singles.
Considering that ‘Adrenalize’ was
recorded after the tragic death of guitarist Steve
Clark the album is really strong sounding, Phil
colleen took on all the guitar parts and the band
created one of the strongest albums of their long
running career when all odds were against the
band.
‘Adrenalize’ features the strongest
opening track on a Def Leppard album and that
is ‘Let’s Get Rocked’ the song
has now grown to be a big fan favourite and is
a song that the band finish every live show with,
without fail. The song features some classic def
Leppard style guitar riffs and really heavy constant
drumming as well as really repetitive sing-a-long
vocals which will leave you chanting “Lets
get, let’s get rocked” time and time
again.
Other classic songs featured on the album are
the real catchy ‘Make Love Like A Man’,
the well produced sing-a-long ‘Heaven Is’,
the big rocking affair that is ‘Personal
Property’ and also the rocky closing track
‘Tear It Down’.
The only song on the album that I am not too
sure about is ‘Tonight’, its Def Leppards
attempt of a ballad and it really doesn’t
do anything for the band, it’s very bland
and boring but it’s not bad having just
one filler out of ten tracks.
The bonus disc on the album is really good it
features live versions of classic tracks such
as ‘Hysteria’, ‘Photograph’.
‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’, ‘Let’s
Get Rocked’ and also various different B-sides,
having these songs on the second disc makes buying
the re-release of ‘Adrenalize’ nearly
as important as buying the re-release of ‘Pyromania’
but the actually main album bit of ‘Adrenalize’
just doesn’t hit the mark as much as ‘Pyromania’
does, but it’s still worth buying especially
if you are a hardcore Def Leppard fan who collects
all there releases
4/5
