Def Leppard have just headlined the Download Festival,
playing in front of 80,000 rock music fans, they
simply rocked and proved that they are the best
arena rock band in Britain and to coincide with
their headline show at Download Festival they have
decided to re-release two of their best selling
classic albums which happen to be ‘Pyromania’
and ‘Adrenalize’, both albums are released
in a deluxe edition which features deluxe digipak
gatefold packaging with expanded booklets containing
rare and unseen photographs and so much more as
well as a bonus second CD which features live versions
of the songs on the album.
So ‘Pyromania’ was the third Def
Leppard album and also one of the most important
album releases for the band because it helped
bring them in major success, the album has sold
over 10 Million copies in America alone since
it was released back in 1983, three songs from
the album were released as singles and became
top 40 hits in the UK singles chart and the songs
on the album that weren’t released as singles
easily could have been and would easily of charted.
If you talk to a true Def Leppard fan then they
would tell you how much they love ‘Pyromania’
and I totally agree with them. The album starts
with ‘Rock! Rock! (Til You Drop) a song
that has that classic AC/DC old skool rock feel
with the stamp along guitar riffs and shout out
loud anthemic rock vocals.
‘Photograph’ is a song that Def Leppard
release as an single back in 1983 and it is such
a classic song and still sounds as good 26 years
on, the song features some of the best Def Leppard
lyrics ever written, it features some classic
guitar riffs, a good guitar solo and really strong
lead vocals from Joe Elliott.
‘Stagefright’ is also a strong song
as this is something that Def Leppard simply doesn’t
suffer from as they have one of the best stage
shows I have seen in a long time, the song is
slightly heavier than the rest of the material
on the album and it features a really strong guitar
solo running throughout the whole song.
As mentioned above all the songs on the album
are strong such as the other singles ‘Foolin’
and ‘Rock Of Ages’ , both songs rock
in their own little way and from listening to
‘Rock Of Ages’ I have finally realised
where The Offspring got the opening for ‘Pretty
Fly For A White Guy’ from.
Not only is ‘Pyromania’ the strongest
album that Def Leppard have ever released it is
now better than ever now it includes a bonus disc
that features a live concert from the band playing
in La at the Forum back in 1983 which features
15 live tracks. If you watched Def Leppard at
Download I am pretty sure you are on a mission
to find the best Def Leppard album to buy and
I don’t think you could go wrong if you
started with ‘Pyromania’.
