UH OHS are a three piece that formed in Norwich
back in 2007 and since that time the band have shared
a love of making random music that it full of dirty
guitar riffs, punky vocals, and so many different
poppy and dance-y moments.
On the 29th June the band are releasing a double
A-side digital single which consist of ‘I
Can’t Wait’ and ‘I Am Underdog’,
the single will only be available to be downloaded
from the bands website and there is a limited
run of only 500 downloads of the single which
means it is pretty much a low key release and
considering the UH OHS are already very popular
in their own town of Norwich I would imagine 90%
of the downloads will come from that area.
‘I Can’t Wait’ is a song that
takes a few listens to get into, after the first
listen I was left wondering what the hell I was
just listening to but after listening to the song
a few more times its really grew on me. The song
opens with a really bouncy Bass introduction from
Naomi, seconds later her in your face squealy
punk vocals come in shouting “I Can’t
Wait, I Can’t Wait, Until You Come Home”,
the bass line runs strong throughout the song
and at moments there are some special sounding
guitar riffs on offer, the dual vocals from Naomi
and Paul work really well especially during the
build-up to the explosive repetitive chorus.
‘I Am Underdog’ starts off with a
proper rock god set of guitar riffs, with some
equally heavy drumming being played by the side
of it, Naomi’s vocals come in next sounding
more toned down on the previous song but due to
some special effects her come at you every now
and again in a spooky way, a constant drum beat
runs through the majority of the song and the
shouty raw vocals from Naomi of “I Am The
Underdog” are just epic, which makes me
think that the UH OHS must be amazing live.
The UH OHS are a very good band, they are very
unpredictable and that’s what I like about
them, one minute Naomi sounds nice as pie and
then the next she is shouting like a possessed
serial killer on a mission, the instrumental work
is equally as impressive and unpredictable.
I really like what I have heard here and I really
want to hear more from this band sooner rather
than later.
