The Hickey Underworld are a band from Antwerp, Belgium
and luckily they sing in English and in a very nice
clear way that you can understand every single word
that they are singing. The bands new single ‘Mystery
Bruise’, comes straight from their self titled
debut album.
‘Mystery Bruise’ is a big sounding
alternative rock song that relies heavily on the
guitar riffs to drive the song, seriously the
riffs are massive sounding, the vocals are very
gritty and grunge like sounding and once the drum
beats kick in you will be left feeling very excited
indeed, but then 2minutes later you the song finishes
and you will be left wanting more and this is
when the repeat button becomes your friend
This is the first I have heard of The Hickey
Underworld and I totally love what I have heard,
if you are into straight up rock bands like Slaves
To Gravity and The Stone Gods then these guys
will also be a band for you, I for one will be
checking out their debut album as soon as I can.
4/5
