Blaze Bayley, The Man Who Would Not Die, is his
4th album, and a return to form for the ex Iron
Maiden Front man, which he will probably be stuck
with till the day he dies.
The album kicks of loud, fast and heavy, at 4
and a half minutes it seems longer than it is,
and it seems that this title track, is about him
really, as he just wont go away and die. This album
seems to have been produced by the man himself
and has done a bang up job, After sacking his
band in 2004, or is it sacking himself from his
band and just taking the name with him, his new
band that joined him in 2007 are on the ball with
this album, the guitars are heavy, the drums and
bass sound great. The guitar riffs are memorable
at times but heavy as hell too, a rare combination. This
is a proper heavy metal album, shame he couldn't
have produced something like this back when he
was with iron maiden. The tone of the album is
a pretty dark affair. Album Highlights are opener
'The Man Who Would Not Die', 'Smile Back At Death',
'At The End Of The Day' and epic closer 'Serpent
Hearted Man'. This album will appeal to iron maiden
fans or fans of British heavy metal. Its a good
return to form and deserves repeat plays.
Blaze Bayley, The Man Who Would Not Die, is out
to buy now all good record stores.
4/5
