Klay, Maps of Rebellion,is a release on the LockJaw
records label. This 5 Piece band are from the UK.
The opening track is a mix of noisy chaos and
melodic sounds, with heavy guitars and a cello
providing the contrast of the opening song, i
certainly prefere the quiter moments as its just
simply nicer to listen to. The album at times
changes its identity from track to track, refusing
to be pigeon holed, sounding at times like Biffy
Clyro of at others like at the drive in, then
maybe like 30 seconds to mars. It will defiantly
appeal to a wide range of rock audience. The structure
of the songs is fairly straight forward, but the
way its sounds is fairly decent if not that original,
but has its epic moments through out the album
while at times being just of kilter, but again
its a good listen. This album would be good without
the vocals in it, just as an instrumental album
it could stand on its own without the vocal track,
this album has had a fair bit of thought going
into the writing of the tracks. You Can Imagine
how it would be played live, with tons of energy
boarding on the verge of chaos. I don't think
that there is a filler track in the album, its
just really good all the way through, it has its
full of piques and troughs, giving it a good musical
landscape that should sound great live.
Klay, Maps of Rebellion will be released on June
22nd 2009 on Lockjaw Records.
