Really big things are happening for La Roux at the
moment, she released her stunning single ‘In
For The Kill’ a couple of months ago and ever
since then she has struck gold, she has toured with
Lily Allen as the main support band playing to thousands
of people each night, she has also just completed
a 14 day stint headlining the NME Radar Tour and
is now ready to release her new single ‘Bulletproof’
on the 15th June.
‘Bulletproof’ is a proper disco beat
charged dance floor track that follows on nicely
from La Roux’s previous single ‘In
For The Kill’ in fact I love ‘Bulletproof’
even more than I loved ‘In For The Kill’
and that was a top song that had a retro feel
that sounding like La Roux had re-winded back
to the 80’s disco scene. ‘Bulletproof’
really shows off La Roux vocals, her vocals are
loud and clear with some real heart wrenching
lyrics coming out of her mouth.
The B-side to ‘Bulletproof’ is an
instrumental version of the song and it proves
to be a really good listen, best listened to turned
up loud and I am sure the thousands of boy racers
across the country will be zooming up and down
our streets in the near future with this instrumental
track blasting out of their boom box rude boy
style.
It’s safe to say that La Roux is going
to be huge, she has that big cross over sound
that mixes indie singer song writer chick with
disco dance floor queen and it works very well,
La Roux hasn’t really a bad single yet and
I am sure when her album is released on the 29th
June her year will start to getting bigger, hotter
and better.
5/5
