Distance in Embrace, Formed in 2004, This screamo/hardcore
band are from Germany, To Hell With Honesty is there
3rd Release.
The album kicks off with a great riff, and great
drumming, 'adding insult to injury' then gets
catchy, although i cant understand the screamo
vocals, luckily there in the booklet, so all is
not lost, the the opener changes again to a more
melodic tune, thats quite nice to listen to before
getting heavy again, its good changing of pace
that keeps this long track interesting. The album
is quite aggressive, but it has great guitar work,
and the band, show good skill when the songs change
pace, showing that not only that they can rock
out but turn it down a notch or two, but also
kick things into overdrive or just get heavy,
the album could do with more melodic singing or
a different style altogether. A good stand out
track is far from eye, far from heart, with is
quick changes in pace, and 50/50 with the screamo/melodic
vocals, this track will get the pits opening up
when played live. 'Counterparts' explodes after
the guitar fades, in before slowing down, this
track is more heavy on the riff and drums, a good
head banging song. The lengths of the tracks varies
abit, so there are no long tracks back to back,
and the changes in the pace of the songs, keeps
you interested, the album is well placed and is
easily Distance In Embraces best work yet, and
with a DVD of some of the bands videos, it is
an extra treat for the fans.
To Hell With Honesty, is released on the 29th
of june
4/5
