The Jokers - The Big Rock And Roll ShowThe Jokers - The Big Rock And Roll Show

The Jokers are a Liverpool based,4 piece rock band that was started in 2006, The Big Rock and Roll Show, is there Debut release, with songs that have been played on the radio.
The Big Rock & Roll Show, was recorded in guitarist Paul Hurst’s living room, while it was mixed twice, one didn't sound right, but it was brought to life by AC/DCs Black Ice mix engineer Mike Fraser.

The album opener, V I B E, fades in like its being played to a live audience, sadly it does work, and its a bit cheesy, with the 'crowd' singing V I B E, it doesnt work, luckily 'Star Raver' pulls it back, with its late 60s, early 70s sound, 'Shake' is a stand out track that sounds like it was stolen from Led Zeppelin back in the day, while in there groove, with a great solid repetitive riff and steady rhythm, with great vocals loaded with sex appeal. The sound of this album is a bit like Led Zeppelin but less experimental, its good an tight and really grooves at times, but it lacks that killer memorable riff, the vocals are good but seem to be a bit one dimensional, with little range, but the band has a good retro sound going for them that is a good ode to days gone by, and im sure that the killer riffs will come in time, also alot of the songs seem to have the same structure and seem very repetitive, or seem to be inspired by the same song almost, but not bad for a debut effort but defiantly needs more variation in the sound of the songs.

The Big Rock & Roll Show is out on the 29th of June.
