Dan Whitehouse is your modern Badly Drawn Boy. Gentle
tales of this and
that, intelligent lyricism blended with a gentle
easy-listening sound.
And contrastingly, the limp voice that yearns to
be unique but quite
frankly isn't, and it's generally a bit limp. It
doesn't go anywhere. Sigh.
Whitehouse has a pleasant voice, everything is
finely tuned and
perfectly executed – it just lacks anything
that induces tapping,
nodding, or singing along.
I've no doubt that Dan Whitehouse has some real
belters up his sleeve,
but this single just isn't ticking my boxes. There
needs to be something
that dinstinguishes this man, from everyone else
with a guitar, soft
voice and fairly high IQ.
