Over the last year or two there have been so many
female singer song writers battling it out for the
top of the charts we have had the major successful
ones such as Lily Allen, Kate Nash, Katy Perry and
Lady GaGa and the more unsuccessful ones such as
Little Jackie and many others that were so good
that I have forgot their names, anyway The Jessie
Rose Trip is the latest female solo artist who is
trying to make a big impression in this hugely dominated
genre.
‘Forever And A Day’ is the debut
single from The Jessie Rose Trip, and it is a
lot different from what all the other female solo
artists have to offer, it’s a pop song that
have a slight streak of reggae running through
it, it’s filled with passionate singing
with Rose’s strong vocals sounding so good,
whilst an organ fills up the majority of the backing
music.
I actually prefer the b-side ‘Sour Grapes’
to the main single release, the song has a streak
of jazz and blues running through it sounding
very slightly like Amy Winehouse in places, the
song is extremely upbeat and makes for a really
strong listen.
Here The Jessie Rose Trip have shown that they
have a huge mixed sound as both songs are so different
from each other, I am impressed with what I have
heard from Jessie Rose so far but it’s still
early days for me to state that they are going
to be the next big thing or anything, but what
I do know is that they are defiantly worth keeping
an eye on.
