Hands are a progressive metal band that formed in
2007,Shane Ochsner, Josh Silbernagel, Chris Schwartz
and Jerik Hendrickson are the bands members from
North Dakota, US.
Sounds of Earth Kicks off with a guitar riff
and drums that repeats well into the opener, before
moving slightly on with the introduction of another
guitar, which then kicks into a band effort on
the 2nd track Judgement, where some lyrics appear
in some screamo/death growls, but you can make
out what there singing which is always handy. The
band has great ability in being loud but melodic
in the quieter parts, it seems at times apocalyptic
sound that seems to belong to a film like 28 days
later. It all works very well and at times is
beautiful, they seem to be in no rush with there
songs doing there own thing in letting them build
and being progressive. The vocals are scattered
across the album, but it matters not really as
the album is mainly instrumental with the bands
musicianship shining through nicely.
This is an album that you could just chill out
to, whether its in the background or blasting
out of your speakers, its up to you, if this is
what the earth sounds like then cool. Out now.
5/5
