Abandoned Souls are an alternative metal band from
the other London in Canada, with there 2nd album.
The album opens with a chugging guitar riffs,
its slow and heavy, bit of metal from the good
old days, bit like black sabbath but more modern,
with out sounding as dark, the vocals are melodic
and the band don't really break out into speed,
just being heavy and grinding, with an slow squealy
solo, The album is constant in its sound, but
im not sure if thats a good thing as a few of
the songs sound the same and nothing really grabs
you, the vocals are decent enough bu there's not
much range in them although they are powerful
and emotional at times and the lyrics are well
written, the pace of the songs suits the vocalist
singing style well. The album seems to be vocal
driven as the music seems to have no real stand
out moments.
For fans of classic metal influenced Abandoned
Souls, there second album 'Some Never Will' is
out now.
3/5
