Underoath - Too Bright To See, Too Loud To HearUnderoath – Too Bright To See, Too Loud To Hear

It feels like it was years ago that Underoath released their current album ‘Lost In The sound OF Separation’ and it also feels that the band haven’t done anything since the album was released, I have since found out that the album was released in September 2008 and the band are due to release their new single ‘Too Bright To See, Too Loud To Hear’ on the 20th April to coincide with the Give it A Name Festival that they are taking part in.

Underoath have always been a band that I have enjoyed listening to, you just can’t beat a bit of Christian hardcore/screamo music and Underoath are complete champions when it comes to this style of music, their 2006 album ‘Define The Great Line’ was awesome and their current album ‘Lost In The Sound Of Separation’ is pretty damn good as well but nowhere near as good as the previous album.

Anyway back to the new single ‘Too Bright To See, Too Loud To Hear’, the song is actually one of the stronger tracks from the new album and is a ballad which is actually a masterpiece with the way that the song starts off really mellow, with minimum soundscapes and near spoken word vocals coming from Spencer Chamberlain for the first 3minutes and then suddenly out of nowhere some chanting group vocals of “Good god, can you still get us home” come in on repeat whilst some marching band style drumming builds the song up until it finally explodes into aggressiveness with Spencer Chamberlain screaming his bollocks off as the rest of the band jam like never before.

It’s like Underoath never took time away from the music scene, they are still as good as they ever were, make sure you get yourself down to one of the Give It A Name shows to watch these guys rock out, as its the live circuit where they really make an impact.

4/5
