Impending Doom is a five-piece Christian death metal
band from California that started in 2005, This
is there 2nd release on the Facedown Records Label.
The album Starts with Wgen Waters Run Deep, a
more regular metal sound, then the death growls
towards the end of the opening track start, kickstarting
the following track,The Serpent Servant with blast
beats, before slowing down to a grind in parts
of the song, even at almost 3 and a half minutes
the track seems to drag on. The album is heavy
with its down tuned guitars and in places kicking
up a gear showing good blast beat drumming from
Chad Blackwell, the death growl vocals from Brook
Reeves are at times ledgable, The an almost accessible
track to non fans of this genre is More Than Conquerors,
its a good fast track that holds the listener
from start to finish, with good solid guitar work
from Manny Contreras & Cory Johnson in the
break down. The tracks at times seem to be a tad
too long, they seem to drag even when the times
are around the 3.30 mark, although the tracks
near the end of the album fall under the 3 minute
mark and seem to go by quicker.
This album is released on the 30th of March.
3/5
