Now this is what I’m talking about a really
fun upbeat female fronted indie rock band that have
elements of ska and hip-hop, the band formed in
Leicester but are now based in North London and
are fronted by Leanne King a female vocalist who
has a killer voice and a really catchy vibe.
The band’s debut single is ‘Bang!’
it’s not released until the 27th April but
it is one hell of a killer tune, the song is about
endearingly clumsy boyfriends who keep bumping
into and dropping things, hence why the song is
called Bang!, the vocals from Leanne King will
just blow you away and stick into your head for
days they are fast flowing and pack such an fresh
upbeat vibe, the overall backing music is indie
mixed with a bit of ska to bring out that happy
summer feeling.
The main b-side to the single is ‘Your
Own Best’ the song isn’t as good as
the main single release but it is strong with
the way that Leanne’s vocals change from
rapping to singing throughout the song, the chorus
is fast and catchy and will provide another catchy
moment that stays in your head for a long time.
Kyoshi are a new band of the horizon and they
are well worth checking out just to hear how good
with words and melody Leanne King is, she has
one hell of a voice and really helps bring the
band to life, it’s not all about Leanne
King as the rest of the band sound pretty solid
with their bouncy basslines, fast guitar riffs
and happy dance beats.
4/5
