If you are off to see Lily Allen live this month
then you will be in for a double treat not only
will you get to see the beautiful and talented Lily
Allen you will also get to see La Roux a red head
solo artist who drenches her music with electronic
synths and catchy beats.
‘In For The Kill’ is the new single
from La Roux, and straight away you can tell that
they want to go back to the 80’s as the
single has a big retro sound about it mixed with
the whole nu-rave scene, the song has enough keyboard
sounds, synths and beats to keep the biggest of
dance and electronic fans happy whilst vocally
you will be taken in straight away as Elly has
a beautiful set of vocals that works extremely
well over all the electronics on offer.
The b-side to the single is an instrumental version
of the song, which obviously sounds exactly the
same as the main version of the single just minus
the vocals and even that on its own provides a
good listen.
The first time you listen to the single you may
think it’s quite odd, I surly did but after
just a couple more listens I actually love it
and can’t get enough of it, it’s a
proper upbeat chirpy song and I can see La Roux
on her way for big things.
4/5
