Here we have the new Children Of Bodom album which is their fifth studio
album and happens to be one of the best death metal albums I have heard
in ages. The album is angry, aggressive and heavy from start to finish.
From hearing the start of the opening track “Living Dead Beat”
you know this album's going to be a winner with its keyboard introduction
and general heavy and catchyness. The next track is the title track “Are
You Dead Yet” and is one of the standout tracks to me and features
some stunning riffs and a very catchy chorus.
“If You Want Piece… Prepare For War” is pure heaviness
and features some really cool guitar solos. “Punch Me I Bleed”
is the slowest track on the album also also features a really good solo.
Another one of my favourite tracks on the album is “Trashed, Lost
And Strungout”. It has some really good guitar playing and one of
the best solos on the album. Also Alexi vocals are great on this track.
The finishing track to the album “We’re Not Gonna Fall”
finishes the album in good style. Once again the vocals are awesome and
features a great guitar solo.
The thing I like most about Children Of Bodom are Alexi’s vocals;
they're heavy and powerful but not as screamy as other death metal bands.
The album is great. Children Of Bodom fans will totally love it and so
will all other death metal fans. Truly stunning from start to finish.
4/5
