FIRE IN THE ATTIC is a five piece rock / emo / punk
Germany. They were founded in 2003 and they have
released one EP and 3 Full Length records on Redfield
Records, a german indie label. Fire In The Attic
has undergone some changes. Singer Ole quite the
band, due to personal differences. Tom Prescott,
quit the English band Kenai and has filled vacant
position. He has stepped away from the keyboard
and now has turned frontman.
Like many of the bands in there genre bracket,
this is nothing ground breaking but the level
of skill of the band is very high and how this
album is put together by the band putting the
album pretty much together without tom, then sending
him the demos and him the adding his parts nothing
here seems like its being added on or is an after
thought.
Opening title track Are We There Yet? takes over
a minute to take off. but has a catchy chorus
and could be crowd participation song other than
that its a good opening track.
Running With Scissors, the guitars chug along
every now an again before going into a wall of
noise, not really a stand out track while clocking
in at under 3 minutes it doesnt grab you.
The Failure Part I - The Nightmare, a piano intro,
its a catchy song with more crowd singalongs,
good guitar riff more wall of noise though.
Alot of the songs seem to sound to the same, theres
no real depth to it, theres alot of wall of noise,
while the vocals are soild they some times get
abit inauidable due to the shouting.
Its a good effort with a new front man but its
more like there other releases, maybe on the next
album it will offer something different with the
new front man adding his stamp on the band maybe
then itll stand out from the crowd, a more variation
in the songs may seperate them from the crowd
of bands that all sound the same.
3/5
