A Self Titled and second full release,The Chelsea
Smile hard rock/Glam band formed in 2004 featuring
guitarist Todd Youth formerly of Danzig.
This album can be described as either fairly
original or something that you've heard too many
times but you like it anyway, but its something
that many good and successful band have done but
have failed to make as memorable.
The opening track, Take You Away, is a great
start, it grabs your attention while being catchy
and memorable its a good opening to the album.
Drowned is a similar song to the opener while
not being as good it holds its own.
I'm gone is a fantastic song that wouldn't go
amiss in a top ten Chart got the same feel as
manned machine by robbie williams, its certainly
should be single. Leave You Cold is a good punk
song with youth drawing slightly from his Danzig
days.
So low seems to be a track thrown away by oasis
and picked out of the bin by TCS,they may have
pinched some vocal sounds from the gallaghers,
deffinatly a brit pop song, but not quite.
Second from last is a Rolling Stones Cover The
last Time, it stays to close to original and is
a good cover thos but not really putting there
own stamp on it.
The last track, Broken Lullabies, has been again
pinched from the oasis waste bin, its a good acoustic
song with a chourus to sing along to, and if it
was in the charts people would believe it was
an oasis bside cover, a great ending to the album.
Overall this is a very good album, while it doesn't
cut you from ear to ear like the bands name would
want to, its diverse enough to be almost original
but its mostly familiar when hearing similarity's
to other bands but it shouldn't put you off, could
be your next favorite band with enough backing,
they could make it big.
