The Answer - Everyday DemonsThe Answer – Everyday Demons

The Answer have recently opened for AC/DC on a mammoth tour across America and they are now due to open for AC/DC as they take their arena tour across the UK and its pretty damn easy to see why AC/DC have picked The Answer to open for them and that’s because they fucking rock and have that big stadium rock sound that is best heard in the biggest of stadiums and I don’t think you can get to play bigger stadiums than what you get to play whilst supporting AC/DC as after all you can’t really get a bigger and better band than AC/DC, obviously it’s down to a matter of opinion but the fact that they are still releasing albums and touring after all this time kind of proves it.

Anyway back to The Answer, I first heard them back in 2006 when they released a number of singles in the UK, I heard ‘Come follow Me’ and ‘Be What You Want’ but to be honest wasn’t really that impressed and put them down as another band who’s trying to make old skool rock cool again and rip AC/DC off, I never went on the listen to their debut album ‘Rise’ because of this but I now wish I did and will check it out shortly.

The second studio album from The Answer is now out and called ‘Everyday Demons’ and it is one huge album, it features 11 tracks and runs for 46 minutes and packs such a big sound, right from the opening guitar riff of ‘Demon Eyes’s’ to the last drum beat of ‘Evil Man’.

The album opens up fast and furious with ‘Demon Eyes’ which starts off with a great big guitar riff and Cormac Neeson’s strong sounding vocals coming in seconds later, the guitar riffs throughout the song are outstanding seriously this would even get the old boys with stiff bones up and moving rocking out to the seriously rocking melodic beats, the guitar solo towards the end of the song is breathtaking and guitarist Paul Mahon deserves respect for his work here.

‘Too Far Gone’ is another straight out rocking song, but this time around it opens up with big drum rolls before Cormac Neeson’s every so distinctive catchy rock vocals come in, along with some classic rock guitar riffs, the chorus is extremely catchy with Cormac Neeson singing “Too far gone, too far gone” with such passionate energy, if this song doesn’t get you moving along then there must be something wrong with you, as even I am finding myself tapping my foot along and tapping my desk whilst writing this review.

‘On And On’ is yet another fast rock song with a huge sing-along chorus that is also crammed with stunning guitar solos and generally amazing instrumental work.

‘Cry Out’ is the token slow song, after three hard hitting powerful rock songs I think it’s a nice place for a slow song to come in, the song has a bit of a blues edge to it and is a really easy listening song that touches into soft rock.

Things pick up in sound again for ‘Why’d You Change Your Mind?’, well to be fair it takes at least a minute as the introduction to the song is really mellow but when it reaches its peak and the song fully takes off its totally worth the wait, but seconds later you find the song slowing down again and slowly building up in pace again for another mad assault of rock noise. The drums beats throughout the heavy parts of the song just makes me want to take up drumming or drag out my Guitar Hero World Tour drum kit and tap along.

I could go on and talk about every song on ‘Everyday Demon’ but there is really no point as each song is song strong that I possible can’t find a bad thing to say about the album or the songs featured on it, but what I will say is do yourself a favour and listen to ‘Pride’ as it the song on the album that sticks out the most. Overall this is defiantly a 5 star release and I feel that every needs The Answer in their lives.

Just think of all the great old skool rock bands like AC/DC, Def Leppard, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Scream etc , well The Answer have the power and sound to go all the way to be up there with the these great bands, as long as they keep themselves cool and continue to release one top notch album after another.

5/5
