Black Lips are a four piece band from Atlanta, Georgia
USA and they describe their music as flower punk,
yeah it’s a bit of an random way to describe
their music but it seems to of been doing them well
as they have been around since the year 2000 and
are set to release their fifth studio album on the
16th March.
In the meantime they are releasing their new
single ‘Short Fuse’ first and on the
9th March and I have a really mixed opinion on
the song, it’s quite upbeat and catchy and
has quite a psychedelic feel about it, in fact
the more I think about the song the crazier I
actually think it is.
Black Lips really aren’t a band for me
don’t get me wrong ‘short Fuse’
is a really spiny song that’s full of pop
hooks but there is something in the overall sound
that just doesn’t appeal to me and at the
moment I really can’t put my finger on what
it is.
