Single Review
The Chemists - Radio BoothThe Chemists - Radio Booth

I first came across The chemists at the start of September when they released their double a-side single 'Something For The Weekend' and 'Tazmanian Devil', both songs proved to be good listens and the single release rated quite highly here on Alternative Vision, well the band are now back with a brand new single in the form of 'Radio Booth' which is being released on the 1st December through Distiller Records.

'Radio Booth' is one hard hitting single release, it has a slight Queens Of The Stone Age feel about it, especially during the first 30 seconds of the song you can clearly hear the Queens Of The Stone Age comparison. It’s like The Chemists have turned their music's volume up to 11 here and have totally gone for it rocking out in the heaviest way that they possibly can, the guitar riffs are really heavy but really catchy at the same time and frontman Johnny Benn's vocals are loud, clear and as well executed as ever.

The main b-side to the single is a remix of 'Radio Booth' by Haunts, who have previously remixed songs by Funeral For A Friend, Late Of The Pier and The Enemy and to be fair to these guys they have done a really good job here, everything is still rocking and heavy but with the addition of dance beats and synths it’s brought that cross over effect into the bands music which could quite help them fill dance floors across the country if people do dare to spin this tune.

The Chemists may be a new-ish band on the horizon but they are not new when it comes to the live circuit, they have already played with The Bluetones, The Crimea and The Delays on tour this year and they are now on the road with Feeder which promises to be a big tour as both bands have a great appeal.

The release of 'Radio Booth' should be enough to keep your appeal in The Chemists until their debut album is released early in 2009.
