Wham, blam, thank you mam! Hard-hitting rocktastic
awesomism that makes me want to stop writing and
throw myself around every available space in my
house. Although the opening track "Idiot"
features a questionable chorus which repeats the
title, it's ball-bustingly brilliant. Who do they
sound like? Who DON'T they sound like? They've taken
the best bits from all over the rock, punk, and
metal genres and blended them into one glorious
sound. There's elements of Foo Fighters, American
Hi-Fi, Black Velvets, Zico Chain, oh, oh sweet Jesus.
A Foo Fighters Wind-Up-esque second track, "Truth
About You," continues to deliver a high level
of song-writing ability, and no long has it faded
out but "Good Things Come To Those Who Hate"
arrives ready and raring to go, once again launching
you through a tunnel of greatness in the land
of the rock Gods.
"New God" is like aNine Inch Nails track,
but a lot better, and you know what they sound
like. Enough said.
It's a shame this rating system only goes up to
five stars because Compassion Fatigue is begging
for a sixth. This is the best new independent
rock release for a long, long time.
5/5
