I checked out the latest I Am Ghost album 'Those
We Leave Behind' back in September and to be honest
I was wasn’t overly keen on what I was listening
to, I was expecting to hear a band that played the
same style of music as Aiden, but instead what I
heard was an album that was full of really toned
down tracks except for the odd enjoyable adrenaline
filled tracks such as 'Bone Garden' which happens
to be their brand new single.
'Bone Garden' is a powerful melodic-hardcore
track that is enjoyable from start to finish,
I Am Ghost definitely had their energy drinks
before recording this track, Steve Juliano has
a very powerful set of vocals he can be quite
melodic with his vocals and he can also be quite
raw sounding, the man brings the best of both
worlds over on 'Bone Garden' and the mix works
extremely well. There are plenty of guitar solo's
on offer throughout the song and they are executed
pretty well, the drum beats are quite constant
and the bass, well the bass is pretty much non-existent.
If anyone has followed I Am Ghost since they
first came on the scene back in 2004 they will
know just how much the band have changed from
then to now, they have had a major line up change
which has also seen their sound chance in some
aspects for the better but in others for the worse.
'Bone Garden' is a stunning song but don’t
let it fool you into believing their current album
'Those We Leave Behind' is crammed full of songs
of this high quality.
4/5
