At the moment the UK alternative music scene has
some really outstanding up and coming bands that
are slowly becoming pretty big, the main two that
I can think of are the stunning Slaves To Gravity
who play every live show like it's their last which
helped them win a few awards at this years Kerrang
awards and secondly Stone Gods, the band feature
3 of the 4 members from The Darkness but sound nothing
like The Darkness whatsoever, instead what we have
here is a true rock and roll band with a bit of
a punk rock edge, they have played the major rock
festivals across the summer, they have also supported
Velvet Revolver this year and have also been nominated
for some Classic Rock Magazine Awards, as you can
see times are very good for the Stone Gods.
The first single the Stone Gods ever released
was 'Burn The Witch', the song was the lead track
from the EP of the same name, the band then went
on to release their debut album 'Silver Spoons
And Broken Bones' and soon after released the
first single from the album 'Knight Of The Living
Dead' which happens to be one of the best songs
from the album, The Stone Gods are heading out
for a mammoth tour across the UK throughout the
whole of November with Aussie rockers Airbourne
and to coincide with the tour they are releasing
'Don't Drink The Water' as a single.
'Don't Drink The Water' is a blast of a song,
it's as rocking as the best rock songs that have
ever been released, it's as fast and furious as
any punk songs you have ever heard, it's got the
cross over feel that will please listeners on
the radio due to its radio friendly nature and
at the same time it will please fans who like
things fast and heavy as the song has the whole
big mixture. 'Don't Drink The Water' is with out
a doubt the fastest song that the Stone Gods have
ever recorded, the song is really easy to get
into and once it has finished you will find yourself
pressing the play button again for another listen
or two. Richie Edwards has a great set of vocals
and this is the perfect song to get you into the
Stone Gods, seriously, things don't get much better
than this.
Stone Gods deserve all the success that they
have been getting, in fact I believe that the
band should be more successful than what they
are, but I am sure in time they will become bigger
and bigger, the band are on tour with Airbourne
and the tour promises to be an outstanding tour
as both bands are so much fun to listen to.
5/5
