Answers On Postcards released their self titled
five track EP earlier in the year, it was the first
I had ever heard of the band and I was quite impressed
with their sound, you could clearly tell that the
band are influenced by the Arctic Monkeys, The Hollies
and also the odd ska band.
Well the band are now back with their new single
'She's All Mine' and just like the EP, this song
is really easy to get into, the song starts off
with some drum beats sounding like some marching
band walking through your local highstreet, the
guitars and bass soon come in bringing even more
catchy sounds into the mix and then vocalist Lee
comes in once again sounding quite like the ex
Whitmore singer Robb Blake, I have always loved
Robb Blakes' vocals and I think because Lee has
very similar vocal styles that's a factor of why
I love Answers On Postcards so much. Let's put
the vocal comparision to the side for a moment
and focus on the actual song, the song is a really
upbeat poppy indie song, the chorus will have
you either singing along or smiling from side
to side as 'She's All Mine' is such a bright song.
The B-side 'It's That Time Again' starts off
really bouncy and proves to be another really
catchy song under these guys belts, the song is
an indie masterpiece but it also has some ska
elements in it, I can see many upbeat ska bands
within this song such as The Ripps, Whitmore and
even The Clash.
If you liked the debut album from these guys
then you are going to fall in love with the latest
release as they have totally outdone themselves
here, 'She's All Mine' is a big catchy indie number
and the b-side 'It's That Time Again' has ska
elements to really bring the song to life and
help everyone have fun.
