Little Jackie is meant to be Americas answer to
Lilly Allen, now I can see where the comparisons
have come from as both artists are similar in some
ways such as both are quite confident out spoken
people that have a lot of attitude, but what sets
these two artists apart is the music, Lilly Allen
has quite an upbeat catchy sound that you can’t
help but love, Little Jackie on the other hand comes
across quite bland sound wise, her vocal style is
quite fast and soulful and quite close to being
rapping.
'The Stoop' is quite a fast free flowing song that
is quite poppy, but there is nothing about the song
that makes me want to listen to it again or check
out further Little Jackie material, I think she
might well appeal to the younger generation, maybe
13-14 year old boys and girls who are still making
their mind up of which way they are going to go
music wise, I doubt Little Jackie will appeal to
anyone out of their teens as I certainly don’t
see the appeal.
I guess Little Jackie is an artist that’s
a bit like marmite you either love her or hate her,
I certainly don’t love her and can’t
see myself checking her out again anytime in the
near future.
Bring Lilly Allen on any day of the week.
