'I Heard Wonders' is the new single from David Holmes,
the man has three solo albums under his belt at
the moment with a fourth on its way in September,
the man has also created soundtracks for many well
known big films such as the Oceans Trilogy, Out
Of Sight and his music even runs over the advert
for the new IPhone.
The overall sound for 'I Heard Wonders' is quite
eerie sounding verging on something that you would
expect to hear from Massive Attack, the vocals
are quite whispery and ghostly sounding, with
windy soundscapes in the background adding to
the freaky feel of the song, the keyboard piece
running through the song is what manages to keep
the song alive giving it that much needed bit
of energy.
'I Heard Wonders' is an extremely strange song,
it’s something that you would expect to
hear on an album featuring the top chill out songs,
as the song has a real chill out feel about it,
the kind of song that needs to be listened to
quite quietly as a bit of backing music. David
Holmes is a really odd but talented musician and
there’s something that I like about him
but I just can’t put my finger on it yet.
3/5
