Late Of The Pier are completely mental, they are
one of the most unique sounding UK bands around
at the moment and they have a sound that’s
a mixture of styles from the indie, electronic and
pop genres and to be fair the mixture is pretty
fucking crazy but works well.
The bands latest single 'Heartbeat' is just as
crazy sounding as their previous single 'The Bears
Are Coming', it’s the kind of song that
you would expect the music video to have multi
coloured swirling shapes attempting to hypnotize
you or totally spin you out and you are probably
wondering why I think that, well check the song
out for yourself and probably won’t believe
your ears to start with but you will seriously
understand what I am on about, words don’t
do Late Of The Pier any justice and don’t
explain how fun and trippy the bands sound really
is.
I love the fact that Late Of The Pier are a totally
unique band, there is no other band around at
the moment who are like Late Of The Pier, could
this be the new craze in the music scene, could
the end of 2008 be dominated with bands trying
to develop the most trippyist sound, who knows
the music world is a strange place and you never
know what’s going to be the next big genre
or scene, but if this psychedelic trippy tribal
indie dance stuff takes off just remember that
Late Of The Pier were the originals.
4/5
