Every now and again you get a new male solo artist
rammed in your face, another artist who comes from
no where to be a big chart topper, over the past
few years we have had James Blunt, James Morrison
and too much manufactured shit that has come from
the various Pop Idol, Britain’s Got Talent
and X-Factor shows, that I have seriously lost track
on who got famous from what and whose who.
Well we now have a new-ish male solo artist on
the horizon by the name of Jack McManus, Jack
has recently released his debut album 'Either
Side Of Midnight', and is soon to release his
second single 'You Think I Don't Care' which is
also taken from his debut album.
'You Think I Don't Care' is a upbeat piano driven
song, where Jack sings his heart out and to be
fair the man does have a decent voice and knows
how to make radio friendly songs, the downside
is that Jack is bringing nothing new to a scene
that is already lacking in creativity. Yes Jack
can play the piano well and has a great voice
but so does pretty much every artist in the male
solo scene, it’s just a shame that we have
heard it all before.
If you like your mainstream male solo artists
then you might want to give Jack McManus a listen
as his music will most probably appeal to you,
but if you are looking for a new leader of the
scene then you are totally looking in the wrong
place. Overall an average song from a talented
artist who doesn’t quite know how to reach
a creative peak.
3/5
