The Talks are a band I have only just come across
and I really didn’t know what to expect when
I first put their single 'Picture This' on, but
I was pleasantly surprised and happy with what was
coming out of my speakers.
The Talks have a great sound, it’s a combination
of pop, punk, indie, ska and reggae and the whole
mixture is what makes them so exciting. 'Picture
This' is such an upbeat song, the vocals are very
bouncy in a poppy way and extremely clear, the
instrumental work is what makes the song a real
winner, it’s so fresh and upbeat and everything
stands out nicely.
The b-side 'Faces' is just as good as the main
single if not better, it’s a fast paced
ska sounding song and is really catchy, just you
wait for the chorus to come in you won’t
believe your ears at how happy and catchy it is.
'Faces' is a song I will be listening to time
and time again especially over the summer months
when the sun is shining as upbeat happy ska music
is the perfect start to a good summer.
I feel quite lucky to of come across The Talks,
they are such a talented band and with such good
songs as 'Picture This and 'Faces' the band surely
have a really bright future ahead of them. Seriously
do yourself a favour and head over to The Talks
myspace and give them a listen as you have nothing
to lose and could gain a new favourite band.
